Change Is....

Change is very real in our church today. We have changes in leadership, changes in our community, and changes within ourselves as we fast or work towards New Year's goals.

As creatures of habit, we often cling to routines and things that make us comfortable, even when they’re unhealthy. So what is change?

CHANGE IS TRANSFORMATION
As Christians, we must look inwardly for true transformation. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewal of our minds, becoming more like Christ in the process. While we may seek or go through external change, God is at work within us, shaping our hearts to reflect His will.

CHANGE IS MINDSET
Real change begins with our mindset. Philippians 3:13-14 encourages us to press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. If we fight change or take our eyes off God in change, we lose sight of the mindset needed for change.

CHANGE IS SMALL STEPS
Change is often achieved through small, consistent steps, such as committing to healthier habits one day at a time. In our church transition, it can mean seeing small things shift one little bit at a time and stepping in where God calls. As Galatians 6:9 says, we must not grow tired of change and moving for the good of His kingdom.

CHANGE IS COMMUNITY BUILDING
Proverbs 27:17 teaches that “iron sharpens iron”. Sharing our goals with others and/or going through change with them can provide encouragement and support.
For any kind of change, a Christian community can help us stay motivated on our journey toward growth and can remind us if we are veering from God’s path for us. That is what Shaken & Stirred is for, to connect women who will be there for each other in the good times and the tough ones.

CHANGE IS PERSISTENCE
When setbacks occur, it's important to remember that change is about persistence, not perfection. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God will complete the work He started in us, even when progress feels slow.

CHANGE IS CHANGE
Ultimately, change is an opportunity to grow and become more like Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are assured that in Christ, we are made new. The journey may not always be easy, but with God's strength, we can endure.

Isaiah 40:31 promises, “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary.”

As we rely on God’s grace, change becomes not a burden but an exciting step toward becoming who He created us to be.

If you haven’t given your life to God, or maybe you have felt a stirring but haven’t acted, God is always there for you. He waits at the door to your heart. Open it. Loosen the fear. Life won’t be without hardship, and doubts will come, but God is bigger and SO much better. We pray with you today that God draws you near and helps you see all that He has created you to be. We would love to hear from you below in the comments, on our Facebook page, or at churchthatmatters.com/connect .
